Founder and Principle

Caprice Taylor Mendez, EdM

Caprice Taylor Mendez is the Founder and Principal of Global Living Consulting with 30+ years of experience in leadership development, organizing and policy advocacy. Leaning into the Co-active coaching training, and pre-colonial and anti-racist based liberation tools, Caprice leverages her toolbox to support executive leaders, change-makers, artists, healers, & institutional integrity-architects of the new world.

Currently, Caprice serves as an Executive Coach and as President/ CEO of a statewide foundation invested in communities most impacted to be the leaders of change, by building community power for justice across her home State. Caprice has worked in the nonprofit sector in support of collective liberation and racial justice for over 30 years globally, nationally and locally.She has founded three nonprofits, as a board member or executive director; and several programs serving the community for systemic change to address the root causes of injustice.  Click here for more information regarding experience;

Additional Experience

Caprice was moved by her Black Guatemalan father’s commitment to social justice, his involvement in the youth organizing efforts against gun violence; and his community organizing that supported the passage of the federal immigration Amnesty Bill in the early 1980’s. Caprice decided to dedicate her life’s work in obtaining tools for our shared liberation; after the federal Amnesty Bill changed the trajectory of her life from an undocumented student to being able to exercise voter power and civic participation as an adult. Since 1991,  Caprice has been working from local to International levels with communities as partners for equity and justice. As a community organizer and coalition director for over ten years, Caprice has impacted key policy changes addressing the social determinants of health, including: education, economic development, affordable housing, and health equity, while building local and national people power across diverse communities in the USA. During her international work in the late 1990’s with Acción International throughout Latin America with financial institutions for economic justice, Caprice learned the importance of honoring the power and wisdom of the people most impacted to drive change and to seed the new.

Caprice graduated from Boston College in Psychology focused on violence prevention; and government sponsored violence, abnormal psychology, acculturation, youth development and family systems. She obtained a Master’s degree from Harvard's School of Education in Administration, Social Policy and Planning. Caprice has served as a consultant in the nonprofit sector for two decades, and as an adjunct professor at Gateway Community College in Peace Studies. When not working, you can find her with family, family dog, gardening or practicing Cosmo Energy or Mayan electromagnetic regenerative work.
